The Director of Engineering leads the OSS engineering department in the design and implementation of overhaul and repair processes providing high-quality, economically competitive services to customers. The Director of Engineering also has a key role in support of organic business growth and new product/services development and introduction.
D u t i e s & A r e a s o f R e s p o n s i b i l i t y
- Plans and coordinates the work of engineering staff.
- Provide training, guidance and leadership to all direct reports.
- Designs and develops overhaul/repair processes, methods, procedures, instructions, equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
- Provides engineering support for customer reviews and audits.
- Provides program management to ensure existing programs meet customer requirements and remain a value-added solution while continuing to support the business needs of OSS and TIGHITCO.
- Reviews project status to promote efficient transition to production and ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
- Consults with Director of Operations, Quality Manager, General Manager, and other staff to create long-range operating goals specific to the organization.
- Collaborates with company leadership to determine market potential for new products and services.
- Builds long term relationships and maintains communication within the customer community to identify business opportunities consistent with the current business model as well as develop new initiatives to assist OSS in diversifying their operations.
- Develops leads with existing and new customers, prepares bid quotations, and provides customer follow-up to support award.
- Supports OSS and TIGHITCO leadership in evaluation of potential acquisition candidates that support overall company growth plans.
