Summary

The Sourcing Specialist will be accountable for identifying and setting up new suppliers, transferring work between existing and new suppliers, and improving poor performing existing suppliers. This position will identify new suppliers in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), DFARS, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), TIGHITCO Policies, U.S. laws and regulations, as well as all international laws and regulations. This position will be responsible for cost savings initiatives and maintaining a highly performing supply base.

Duties and Responsibilities

Audit existing supply base to establish a strategic plan to improve efficiency, reduce cost, improve performance and maximize value of supply chain operations.

Capture a set savings amount each year as a percentage of planned spend for all TIGHITCO sites

Optimize supplier pricing through competitive bidding, contract negotiation, cross-facility coordination, and other available strategies.

Review weekly open orders and spend forecast for savings opportunities

Negotiate Long Term Agreements with new and existing suppliers

Be an escalation point for the whole procurement department on excess PPV and lack of supply

Ensure flow down of terms and conditions, including but not limited to FARS and DFARS requirements, to TIGHITCO suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.

Ensure supply chain management activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and customer requirements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field from an accredited four-year College or University

 

Preferred:

MBA

Certifications in Purchasing Management, Inventory Management, and/or Lean Manufacturing

Bi-lingual (English, Spanish)

Experience

7+ years of progressive supply chain experience, along with 3+ years of supply chain experience within the Aerospace or Defense industry

Working knowledge of ERP software platforms, preferably Epicor & Visual Manufacturing
• Sound understanding of commercial contracts, business agreements and general business practices
• Proven ability to conduct negotiations in a professional manner, achieving desired results, while maintaining good customer relations during and after the negotiation

• Must have the ability to make sound business judgments, handle multiple activities with a short turn-around time, and work independently as well as part of a team
